Box Office: "Puss In Boots" Outwits the Competition
Conjuring up a top-earning spot as it made its way into theaters, "Puss In Boots" out-dueled the competition at the box office over the weekend of October 28-30, 2011.
The Salma Hayek/Antonio Banderas voiced cat caper film raked in $9.8 million on Friday while expected to garner a solid $37 million opening weekend total.
Getting nudged downward to the runner-up position after spending opening weekend in the pole position was "Paranormal Activity 3" - with the spooky picture conjuring up $7.3 million on Friday to pace towards a weekend take of $20 million.
Rounding out the top five at the box office in estimated weekend totals were the Justin Timberlake/ Amanda Seyfried action flick "In Time" ($13 million), followed by the Julianne Hough/Kenny Wormald led classic remake "Footloose" ($6 million) and Johnny Depp driven comedy "The Run Diary" ($5 million).
