What About The Carriers?

We were talking about this at work the other day. The managers at Menlo Park have had a couple of long time carriers mention that they really can't afford to keep their routes any more. When gas was $2.50, you may have been able to make a buck or two off your route. Now, with the lessened amount per paper you get due to the dealerships taking a cut, and gas skyrocketing over $4 with no end in sight, well, we (the Teamster managers and I) think that not only are the carriers going to quit, the dealers won't be able to staff the routes and they'll fall by the wayside as well.
